Yes, that is a good idea. but there isn anyone to buy
the 3,2 is hopelessly expensive to import also, due to heavy taxes on large engines.
so, while i wait to the right time to import, I will do some modifications on my own. its in such good shape, that Ill hate to sell it. Maybe i dont, ever?
Whats wrong with 2 X 166
here is the enginebay:
picture taken 2 months ago, after some careful washing and airblowing. I did a complete removal of all the top bits, so i could reach and remove the coils, then dry all up.

The coolingwatertank can easily be cleaned, and then looks bright white again. Just take care that you don't damage the connections, ay Yuri?

Sport & comfort: Koni FSD is the way to go!
Very nice shocks.
More sporty & premium quality: Bilstein B8. These can be ordered from the Alfisti.net shop. I'm pretty sure they ship to Norway aswell.
As for performance upgrades for a 2.5 sportronic; bigger intake runners and Squadra chip are probably the easiest and cheapest options. You can try GTA intake camshafts aswell. They fit the 3.0 but i'm not sure if they fit the 2.5. Worth looking into tho. Combined with Squadra tuning they give me +28 hp. Other options like flowed head, high compression pistons and/or Rotrex compressor are far more expensive.

That is a very smart engine bay Alte. Must have taken some time, but well worth it.
There is nothing wrong with owning two 166's. But indeed, importing them to Norway is rediculous. My friend tried it on his 166 3.0, and just couldn't believe it when the figures came back. It was a very reluctant sale, but there just was no other option. Maybe some day, when it is a classic...

Thanks for all tips and trics. I knew there was a lot of know how here. I have visited your message board many times, but its not allways that i understand the writing
Then i will start whith the easiest way for inceasing the power, and maybe try out the Koni FSD, since the car never will enter a racetrack. If its a manual, I certainly would.
Yes 2 cars would be nice. one with manual gearing for more sporting driving and one with sportronic for the cruicing plesure days. Time will show
The enginebay took 2 days, but i enjoyed it.

Mine has the B8 schocks in combinatio with novitec springs. A very good combinatiom for the daily use and if you want to go to the racetrack occasionally. I thought the B8 is cheaper than the FSD

Yes they (B8's) are cheaper ánd better quality but also a little bit harder than the Koni FSD's (i have experience with both). Especially in the back. They are perfect however with some load on the rear axle (a full boot and/or people in the back seat). I suspect they are the perfect rear shocks for people with lowering springs and a LPG tank in the trunk.

Hi again dear 166 lovers. I`ve been thinking about engine upgrade quite a lot lately. The easiest way is probably to put in a 3,2 engine. but here is my . Does the 3,2 fit perfectly to the ZF gearbox? or is it nessasery to modify anything? I`m thinking of bying a comletely new stock 3,2V6 that is supposed to fit the facelift 166 with manual transition.
any one that has done this?
