Help needed for Irish 166
Hi,
Just discovered this Dutch Alfa forum and hoped i might find some help for my 166.
I have a 2003 2.5 V6 with Koni, Eibach and Powerflex. However the rear camber is so far out and the back wheels look like this: / \
Tyre wear is really bad on the inside of tyres!
Does anyone in the Netherlands know of a way to adjust the rear camber ?
I spotted a Dutch 166 on youtube that looks lowered but without the bad camber.
Anyone able to advise?

Check out 166 at 1.32
Thanks, HH

Re: Help needed for Irish 166
Spend a holiday in the Netherlands and have the car aligned at Angelo's in Gorinchem. He knows how to compensate for this.
Or have your alignmentcompany conact Angelo, maybe he will share his knowledge.
Angelo
A lot of members of this forum have their alignment and tire weir problems solved by Angelo.
The 166 is a typical car to align, especially when it is lowered.

Re: Help needed for Irish 166
Well, that would give you a better alignment. with also reduces the wear on the inside of the tires, but it will not solve the camber problem.
I myself have the same problem actually... Most likely it is caused by wear in the upright bushings. If these are ok, You can try to restore the camber by adjusting the upper "triangle" inner attachment. As you can see on the illustration below, it is mounted to the rear subframe with slotted holes. But I have to say, no-one here tried it (yet), and you will probably have to drop the subframe a few times to get it right.

If you succeed in correcting it, I, and I know a few others, are very curious in how you achieved it.
Good luck,
Yuri.

Re: Help needed for Irish 166
Thankyou guys.
I will get my mechanic to check the bushes both at the top and bottom of the upright. Is the triangle #5 in the diagram Yuri ?
Sometimes owning a 166 can be a little stressful but it's good to know i'm not alone .
Thanks, HH

Re: Help needed for Irish 166
Just remember, when you replace number 5 (differnt setting) you cannot check the camber unless you all put it back together. I'm sure when it's located well your camber will be perfect. I hope you get it right in 2 or 3 attempts.

Re: Help needed for Irish 166
So:
- spend a lot of hours on adjusting #5
- then spend €60 on checking the alignment, hoping the camber is better and that it is identical left and right.
- repeat until result is satifying
No wonder nobody tried this before
It would make it more efficient if you can sketch the mechanism out, and predict how far the #5 should be shifted sideways.
